Custom GPS apparel is coming soon. For now, here’s how to start thinking about the coordinates and details you may want to use.
You can find coordinates by searching your location in Google Maps or your phone’s map app.
On Google Maps: Search for your location, right-click on the exact spot, and select the coordinates at the top of the menu.
On Your Phone: Open your Maps app, go to your location, and tap or hold the spot to reveal the latitude and longitude.
You can submit the coordinates exactly as they appear, whether they show as decimal values only or include N / S / E / W direction labels.
Please enter your coordinates in latitude first, longitude second.
You can submit them in either of these formats:
Decimal coordinates from a pinned location
Example: 48.8566, 2.3522
Decimal coordinates with direction labels
Example: 48.8566° N, 2.3522° E
If you’re choosing a very exact place, like a park bench, trail stop, or special viewpoint, your phone’s map app may show the coordinates as decimal numbers without N / S / E / W labels when you tap or hold the spot. That’s completely fine.
If you search for a city, landmark, or building directly, Google may display the coordinates with N / S / E / W labels. That format works too.
We’ll use the coordinates you provide to format them correctly for the final design.
For most meaningful places, coordinates entered to four decimal places are precise enough. This typically gets you within about 11 meters (36 feet) of the location.
That level of accuracy works well for cities, landmarks, beaches, and most personal destinations. For a more exact point such as a bench in a park or a specific trail stop, using your phone’s GPS while standing at that spot will give the most accurate reading.
An address can help identify the place, but we will still need the actual latitude and longitude coordinates
for the final design.
The easiest way to get them is to search the address in Google Maps or another map tool, then copy the
coordinates from the exact location.
